Mic correction
« on: September 03, 2012, 15:52 »
Hi Tommy,

there's a place on the net that sells mics with calibration measured files

http://www.cross-spectrum.com/measurement/calibrated_behringer.html

As we can see on the site the calibration file is a FRD file... but there's no direct aplicattion of this on Mic Correction Program or Sat Live.

Hi Chris,

thanks for the link. The file looks much like file which comes with the EMX-750  (http://www.emx-7150.isemcon.com), but currently SATlive is checking for the mic-name.

The FRD 'consortium' restricts 'commercial use' of the FRD file type. I'll contact them about conditions/terms to integrate the format into SATlive.

Hi Tomy,

The file contains a text in chinese?? I reclaim with Dayton Audio and they send me a new file in correct format.

By the way with this new file the message appears the same.

Hi Tomy,

I had entered manually the values on miccorrection and the resultant graph is pretty much similar with the plotted by the manufacturer.

Do I need to enter the values inverse from the response curve to obtain a miccorrection for Sat Live? Or the file it's ready?

Chris

Hi,

you can use the values directly. The trace should look like the frequency response of the mic.

Hi Tomy,

the trace it's like the response of the mic. So when invoked in Sat Live the program corrects the measurement channel as a inverse of that??
