Is it possible to "capture" a Sine Wave sweep?
« on: April 27, 2012, 15:57 »
I was playing around with Room EQ Wizard the other day, taking various measurements of my recording room. They use a Swept Sine wave to show their FFT , waterfall and other data. You initiate the measurement , it sweeps thru the range and then you get the response Trace on the screen.

Is this possible in SATLive? I can get the Signal generator to sweep but it just does it continuously on a loop. And how do I get it to stop show me the response of the room?

I've had SATLive now for nearly a year but have had a very difficult time in learning how to use it. I spend a great deal of time on the SMAART / Rational Acoustics website trying to glean understanding on how to use these measurement systems. I've been thru the Time alignment Tutorial, but that doesn't seem to be working quite right.

Hi,

you can do this in the IR Module section of SATlive. Use the Sweep measurement to do so.

This will result in an impulse-response. You can window this impulse and use FFT to create the frequency response.
You can also automate the whole sequence in Setup -> user macros.

By default the user-macro 'sweepy joes' does a sweep measurement.

Thanks Tomy. I'll try that out.
